Personal Safety
Being sensible isnβt the same as being scared.
If you're going somewhere new or meeting someone you don't know well, tell a friend or flatmate where you'll be. A quick text is enough.
If something feels wrong, leave. You don't owe anyone an explanation. Feeling uncomfortable is enough reason to go.
Carry a small power bank. It's cheap insurance.
Stick to well-lit routes and busier streets. Be aware of who's around you without being paranoid. Headphones in both ears make you less aware β one out is fine.
Always verify the car plate and driver name before getting in. Share your trip with someone. Sit in the back. If it feels wrong, don't get in.
Plan it before you go out. Know your route, know your options, have money for a cab if needed. Don't rely on strangers for a lift home.
